Phoenix

Burning to fly,
Rising from the ashes
And learning –
With each fall,
Pleading with the next one
To rise. In the darkest
Hour, with each twilight
Bust into flames
And be reborn,
More alive
Than destiny claims.

Poet’s note: Dear reader, have you ever sat in a darkened room and just crying yourself? Hopeless? People say it makes you stronger, eventually. For now, I’ll just say – breathe.

Discovery

Fill my heart with this feeling
That encaptures the broken pieces.
I saw the clash of contraries,
A melding not mixing
Of the light and dark;
A powerful symphony.

Hollow and content,
Wandering till twilight
Hoping the answers will suffice.
Beautiful, as it wrecks the cynic;
What am I to make of existence?

Poet’s Note: Have you ever been stuck in crossroads due to simple choices? While there is white, black and grey, I feel like I’m often stuck in blue, locking myself out of everything. Or maybe just barricading myself inside? Oh well.

Mood music: Ben Howard – In dreams

Yearning

Wandering, this summer
She spent wavering.

This city is a mystery
That I cannot fathom;
It’s a breath of fresh air
And turmoil at heart,
It’s like his touch leading you
While his mind is afar.

A clash of the past and the present,
Her mind is yearning
While the numbness haunts
Her reasoning.
Do you roll with it or
Do you walk away?
Do you shun yourself
Or do you shut you pace?
Tell me,
Should I listen to you,
Or will the whispers win today?

City of brotherly love,
The place where her
Heart went astray.

Poet’s note: Is it just me or do people tend to have more flings during the summer? Do you restrict yourself too much? I think I’m finally giving myself a pass to explore beyond the restrictions that I placed on myself.

Innocence- Acrostic

Innate sense of inspired joy,
Nutured with such wondrous eyes;
Naively assuming the world poses no ploy,
O’er, where the darkness lies.
Capturing the stardust before it
Encaptures your will to be profound,
Not a minute wasted – We are jouney bound;
Cradling the soothing past, yet wound in the dewdrops an
Everlasting love, at the behest of the heart.

Philadelphia

Bring your sadness
And all your blessings,
The city of brotherly love
Will embrace you, as are.
The wandering snow,
And the lights of Christmas,
Will set your heart aglow,
And spread cheers as the dawn recedes.
Come night or day,
Set your heart aflame;
For even a flawed hearth
Can warm your days.

The Leaf’s Journey

Go grab your Cello,
Make the music a little mellow;
A twig’s end story, little fellow
Let me begin, with a simple ‘ello!

The wind and water,
Are our pen pals and chauffeurs.
The hard lignin steed,
Remains a loyal one indeed –
As we mutiny at the end of a creek
Breezing past the tangible destiny;
Abandoning the brick walls,
Not stuck in a jam, where gasoline calls,
A mellifluous melody
A subtle harmony;
Green, then yellow,
Make it a loud rubato
The red is here, so the end is near
A dramatic close,
Silence till Spring, I suppose.

Melody

I would recommend listening to Shackleton by Adam Young while listening to this because the poem was inspired by that song. Hope you like it! ^_^

Time to time,
Sway with the drums
The fingers
Whispering through touch
Rhythm rising with each second
The world wound in the whorls
Of petals.
Beyond expectations,
Merging with the skin –
These lawless tunes
Blending with the runes.
Breathe
Together,
Dancing in the summer rain,
Cold and warmth
Vibrating,
Not in vain.
Let’s take it slow
Breathing as one and whole.
Melody
Melding with our soul.

Timepiece

Sparks fly, as we break open the past,
And we hold time in a glass
As if the sands would abide
By the serenades of our kind –

Time flows through the dark
And light and the unfathomable murk;
Embrace the changes of the centuries
Because you best believe
That the one thing that matters
Is to scream your call
Out loud, when the tides arrive.
Time goes on.
